What is EGF?

EGF - epidermal growth factor, was discovered in 1962 by Dr. Stanley Cohen, USA. Tests on skin and epithelial tissues confirmed the fact that this substance stimulates cell growth. The protein was named Epidermal Growth Factor, abbreviated EGF. Since then, research has continued continuously, and in 1986, Professor Cohen received the Nobel Prize in Biology and Medicine for outstanding achievements in the study of the properties of epidermal growth factor.
